Crochet case..!

A few days ago I started crocheting again! So suddenly, just to take a break from my exam's stydies. Anyway I didn't know what to do and as you may remember I had asked your help about a crochet bag. You think I have forgotten?? No, I don't give up my projects that easily, just wait for the right time! Well, I decised to start with something easier and smaller like a cell-phone case. So I found this video on youtube and started following the instructions. Here's a "behind the scenes" image!!

After some effort and many rows of double crochet... tadahh!

             Back

I also attached a double chain, just to learn how this can be done!

I really had fun but still have some problems I have to get over:
1. Still don't know how to finish off well, that's why there are some knots left
2. Sometimes I miss the final stitch of  a row and as a result my work doesn't become symmetrical
3. Have to learn how to change colour or what to do if my yarn ends in the middle of a row!
Anyway, one thing at a time...I'm optimist!

And since this case can't be used outside of the house, A found a practical use for it, in the  inside!

What do you think? I'm waiting for your thoughts and remarks!
Have a nice day,
Angeliki

  1. Hello Angeliki,

Very neat pouch and I like the practical use you have put it to.

When I change colour I leave a long tail on the old colour and then work in the new colour in the same stitch.

yes you do have to be careful about the edges its so easy to miss a stitch and then it becomes irregular.

As for finishing off leave a long tail again and thread it in a sewing needle and sew it back into the work by going into the V of the last stitch.

If you would like to send me you email address I can send you a pdf crochet book that might help you.

    Amanda :-)

  2. My finishing isn't neat either. I always have knots. You are just supposed to use a big needle to thread the yarn ends through but I never feel like that's enough and certainly takes a lot of time. I don't always read patterns very well. Sometimes just make things up as I go along. I need to make a case for my mobile but haven't even done so yet. I'm crocheting covers for jars and rocks right now. :) Hope your day is a good one. Tammy

  3. Nice case! I admire your optimism.

    I haven't a crochet project for a long time.
I was thinking to start the same blanket that Katie is making.

Good luck with your crocheting endeavour!
