Today the whole morning was dedicated to my plants' transplanting! It was actually the first time I was transplanting something and was guided by my bf who has more experience on the subject! So he made an example for me, by transplanting the basil,
Firstly, I removed the roots of an older plant from my bigger pot and mixed the soil with the help of a small rake,
and then I went on...!
Firstly, I removed the roots of an older plant from my bigger pot and mixed the soil with the help of a small rake,
to get it prepared for the hollyhocks!
After, that I went on with the moon flower,
filling a pot with some last year's soil taken away from the previous pot..
then creating a small root cellar, and then adding a small amount of enriched soil bought from the market,
placing the moon flower on the top. The plant had been previously removed from its plastic pot.
Finally, the adding of some extra soil and..voila!
The same procedure was repeated for all of my new flowers, ending to a completely "new" balcony, so
here's before...
and after!
What do you think?
Looks great! I love the winter season here which is the only time we can really buy new plants. It gets way too hot during the summer for much to survive, but I'm itching to try and find a few things that can survive the heat and dust. Hope you are having a great week. Tammy
ReplyDeleteYou sure did a lot of planting! It looks fabulous. I can imagine what it will be like when everything has taken root and begins to fill out. Nothings better than fresh herbs to brighten any meal.
ReplyDeleteWhat a transformation. I bet your plants will appreciate the time you put in.

Love it! I am growing in boxes that Hubby made for me, new follower from a glimpse
ReplyDeleteHi Angeliki, I think you did pretty good with your moon shots seeing as you were viewing through a telescope. I visited a Greek friend outside of Athens the summer when Greece experienced a heat wave and then fires -- boy was it hot, especially since we could only use the a/c in her summer home at night. We spent all day outside at the beach because it was cooler there than in the house. Hope you have a great day. Tammy
